~FILMS THAT SPEAK TO THE DANDY~

BY CHRISTOPHER BALOGH

We scoured the most popular streaming platforms to give you this list. Yes, it’s not a complete anthology of stylish films. But this is just the first serving of that.

We concentrate on those that were released in 1960s and 1970s. The criteria were those that perspired Dandy. A selection that showed off the leisure attitudes and damn cool looks. We made a couple exceptions for having to shell out a couple dollars to rent. Trust us, it’s worth it.

______

THE GRADUATE (1967)

It all comes down to a pool. The coming-of-age story that set the standard. It stars Dustin Hoffman in his truly breakout role as Benjamin Braddock, a post-college grad not knowing what to do next. Enter, Mrs. Robinson played by Anne Bancroft. With a classic soundtrack and an Alfa Romeo 1600 Duetto Spider mixed with seduction — you can’t go wrong.

A grand selection of movies that I often go back to.

Might I point at that there is a double description inside the article?

As a French man I am glad to see “Plein Soleil” here, might I add :
    - La Piscine, also with Alain Delon
    - That Man from Rio, with Belmondo. A still shot from this movie was used in your wonderful article about the joy of riding and having motorcycles.
    Peace to you my compadres
